Injection Mold Ordering & Production Workflow
1、Inquiry & Quotation
The customer submits 2D/3D drawings and material requirements. We provide a detailed formal quotation.
2、DFM & Moldflow Analysis
We conduct a Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review and Moldflow analysis to optimize gate locations and identify potential defects before production.
3、Mold Design
Detailed 3D mold structure design and 2D assembly drawings are created and sent to the customer for final approval.
4、Mold Fabrication / Tooling
Upon design approval, we start steel cutting, followed by CNC machining, EDM, and wire cutting.
5、Mold Assembly
Components such as cavities, cores, sliders, and cooling systems are meticulously assembled and fitted.
6、Mold Trial (T1, T2…)
The mold is mounted on an injection machine for its first trial (T1). We collect samples and check for dimensional accuracy.
7、Sample Approval
Samples are sent to the customer for evaluation. If needed, we perform mold tuning (modifications) based on feedback.
8、Final Inspection & Delivery
After final approval, the mold undergoes a dry cycle test and final quality check before being packed and shipped.
Injection Mold Quotation Workflow
1、RFQ Receipt
Description: Receive the Request for Quotation (RFQ) along with 2D/3D product drawings (STEP, IGES, or Parasolid formats).
Key detail: Clarify material requirements, estimated annual volume, and surface finish.
3、Requirement Review & Feasibility Study
Description: Evaluate the part complexity, wall thickness, and draft angles.
Key detail: Determine if the project is feasible and identify any initial design concerns.
4、Mold Specification Definition
Description: Define the Mold Base (e.g., LKM, DME, HASCO), Steel Type (e.g., P20, S136, 718H), and Cavity Number (Single or Multi-cavity).
Key detail: Decide between Cold Runner or Hot Runner (e.g., YUDO, Mold-Master).
5、Cost Estimation
Description: Calculate costs for materials, CNC/EDM machining, labor, heat treatment, and mold trials.
Key detail: Factor in the complexity of sliders, lifters, and any specialized cooling requirements.
6、Formal Proposal Submission
7、Description: Provide a detailed quotation including Lead Time payment terms, and technical suggestions.
